Between November and January, Estonia’s largest job portal CV-Online carried out the traditional TOP employer survey to find out people’s preferences when choosing an employer. In the financial sector, LHV Pank was chosen as the most preferred employer.
As usual, the most popular jobs in the financial sector belonged once again to the banks. LHV Pank became the most valued employer, chosen by 22% of the respondents as their first preference. The Estonian capital based bank was followed by Swedbank and SEB Pank.
According to Liisa Põldma, the Head of Human Resources at LHV, it is great recognition for the bank, all the more so as there is currently unprecedented competition among jobseekers.
‘Last year was different in many ways. The number of job applicants has increased significantly, which is forcing the recruitment team to constantly search for new solutions. On the one hand, we want to find the right person with the right attitude to work at LHV, which is why we are willing to contribute more time to the recruitment process. On the other hand, we want all candidates to have a positive experience with us and that their desire to work at LHV would increase further, even if they were not chosen this time,’ Põldma describes.
The beginning of the year also promises to be very active for LHV’s recruitment team. ‘LHV is growing rapidly and we need to make sure that the bank conquers new peaks with the best possible people. Every week a competition ends or starts, so we are looking for new employees all the time,’ says the Head of Human Resources at LHV.
According to Põldma, the company’s greatest value is its people, so new and existing employees should be addressed on a daily basis. ‘Our goal is to be the best employer for our people and show them that they are truly cared for. As at the end of last year, people needed it more than ever,’ she adds.
This time, a total of 3222 people from across Estonia participated in the annual TOP employer survey, choosing the most attractive employers in seven different business sectors. The most important criteria for choosing an employer involved motivating remuneration and additional benefits, excellent internal climate and friendly colleagues, flexible work organisation, equal and fair treatment of employees, noticing and recognising results, taking care of employees’ health, and providing opportunities for development.
LHV Group is the largest domestic financial group and capital provider in Estonia. LHV Group’s key subsidiaries are LHV Pank, LHV Varahaldus, and LHV Kindlustus. LHV employs over 500 people.
