28% of Estonian residents prefer to invest at least a part of their money left over from unavoidable expenses, and young people are more inclined than older people to increase their savings through investing, according to a Kantar Emor survey commissioned by LHV.
According to Romet Enok, Fund Manager at LHV, the first investments will be made in the coming days. Due to the new fund’s strategy and the current market situation, the focus will be on euro-denominated bonds with a high international rating. ‘The European private bond market is very diverse. LHV’s new fund will focus on the larger and more stable issuers in the European bond market,’ said Enok. He stressed that the fund is characterised by diversification. This means that investment opportunities are sought among both short-term and long-term bonds. In addition, new issues and secondary market bonds are analysed on an ongoing basis. Attractive cash flows are also being sought from both local European companies and global entrants to the regional market. ‘The participation of more than 1,000 investors in the initial subscription demonstrates a high level of confidence in LHV’s new fund. It also shows that Estonian investors have long-awaited an opportunity to get convenient access to the global bond market,’ Enok said.
He added that one of the most common investment recommendations is not to keep all your eggs in one basket, and this principle will also be followed in building the new fund portfolio. ‘We believe that the chosen strategy will be effective in growing the assets of investors in the long term. Over time, the principle of diversification could also become increasingly more apparent in the portfolios of investors, increasing the proportion of highly rated bonds and thus the number of investors in the LHV Euro Bond Fund,’ Enok said.
The LHV Euro Bond Fund UCITS is open-ended, and units can be bought and sold on a daily basis. An investment services contract is required to buy units. Units can only be purchased in the LHV internet bank, both via the securities account and the pension investment account.
