LHV mobile app and Internet bank now enable confirmation of payments using biometric data

Now, in addition to Apple devices, the LHV mobile app also enables confirmation of payments using biometrics on Android devices. Biometric solutions can also be used to confirm payments in the LHV Internet bank.

With biometrics, you can log in to the LHV mobile app and Internet bank and confirm payments there quickly and easily: all you need is fingerprint or facial recognition.

Biometrics can be used to validate payments up to EUR 250 and for up to 10 consecutive payments. After the 10th payment, you need to confirm the following payment by Smart-ID, Mobile-ID, ID-Card, or PIN-Calculator. Biometrics cannot be used to confirm bank link payments, e-invoice payments, or pending payments.

To use biometrics in the mobile app, you must enable fingerprint or facial recognition under the settings of your smart device and in the LHV app. To do so, go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Login’ in the LHV app menu. In the case of devices running iOS, turn on ‘Allow Face ID’ or ‘Allow Touch ID’, and in the case of Android devices ‘Allow biometrics’. Then, you must enter your PIN2 and the verification code that you can request to be sent by SMS or e-mail.

In order to enter the Internet bank using biometrics, you must have biometric login enabled in your mobile app. To log in to the Internet bank, you must first enter your username and personal identification code. Then, you must compare the verification code shown on the website with the code sent to the LHV app. If the codes match, you must confirm in the app that you authorise access to the Internet bank.

Biometrics can be activated on several devices at the same time. We recommend that you enable push notifications to make it as convenient as possible to open the app when logging in to the Internet bank with your biometrics.
