Exploring LHV’s DNA: Education leaders take a fresh look behind the scenes of banking

28. january 2025Merit Udusalu from Kajamaa School and Pille Siimpoeg from the Tallinn Rännaku Kindergarten

We are Merit and Pille, interns from the 6th year of the Internship Programme for Educational Leaders, who will immerse themselves in the world of LHV for the next ten weeks. Thanks to Fontes, the Good Deed Education Fund, and our employers – Saku Municipal Government and Tallinn Education Board – we can share with you the latest observations from behind the scenes of the financial sector.

The first week has been full of positive surprises. LHV’s DNA stands out above all for its human-centricity. The communication culture here is more than just rules of politeness – it is a sincere, warm, and respectful way of how colleagues interact with each other. It seems incredible, but already by the end of the first week it feels as if we had known these people from before.

It is remarkable how LHV has managed to write down its mission, vision, and brand essence in a way that is understandable to every employee, regardless of their role. This is also reflected in practice – in collaborative conversations and communication between teams, you can feel that everyone is moving towards a common goal.

LHV’s mindset ‘If you develop, so do we’ is not just empty words. This is proven by a comprehensive onboarding program, well-considered set of values, and the ABC of service that provide each new employee with a clear path and toolbox.

To sum up the week – LHV has proven that the environment here is:

  • Simple – complex processes have been made understandable
  • Supportive – the development of each employee is a priority
  • Effective – clear goals and the pursuit thereof are written into the DNA

We look forward to the coming weeks and the opportunity to dive even deeper into LHV’s culture. We thank LHV for the warm welcome and the opportunity to contribute to the future with you.
